“I've been working with PTI for several years now, and familiar with their previous software and keypad models. When I started using the AP1 alongside Storlogix Cloud it was a completely different world. The interfacing and programming is all customizable and easy to work with. The clamshell design makes install so much simpler- a gamechanger. My customers appreciate the new modern design and of the AP1 and it's integration with the new interface of the Cloud Controller. Sleek and intuitive! ”

Designed to help self-storage owners and operators create a seamless experience for tenants, StorID provides tenants with the ability to open gates, doors, and view access activity from their mobile device.
With StorID, there’s no getting out of the car at the gate, no keys to lose, and no more access codes to remember. Access is as simple as opening up the app and swiping the screen while still inside your vehicle to open the gate making property entrances completely touchless and contactless.
Is there a mag stripe reader?
Not currently but is being investigated for possible inclusion at a later date.
Will there be a speaker on the AP1?
Not currently but is being investigated for possible inclusion at a later date.
How is it wired?
It retrofits easily to existing RS485 networks using 18 gauge shielded wiring and is a direct retrofit or upgrade to the VP Keypad with minimal differences.
What app does it use and will it be using the StorID app?
It will initially use EasyCode to support the Bluetooth connectivity elements that are part of the AP1. In the coming months EasyCode subscribers will be transitioned to StorID as will all PTI customers for a single app experience.
Can I do digital key sharing with the AP1?
Once AP1 is able to be accessed through StorID, digital keysharing will also become available to tenants who desire to share access with other individuals of their choosing.
Are there custom branding options? If so, what are they and how does it work?
Much of the custom branding options will be on the StorID app itself vs the keypad where operators will have the option to include a full color logo of their facility and contact information.
Can I put my logo on the screen? What is the file format and resolution?
Future firmware updates will allow for one color logo uploads to support operator’s logos for additional branding opportunities
Does the AP1 have additional inputs and relays? If so, why is this important?
Yes, the VP Standard keypad had 1 input and 1 relays. The AP1 has 2 inputs and 2 relays, so operators can leverage extended door controls which were only available with the Apex keypad. This means operators can tell if their climate controlled doors are being propped open, or whether their door was forced open, and you can even tell the state of the door (open/closed). Notifications can even be set up to alert operators if doors are forced or held open through StorLogix Cloud.
Is it easier to troubleshoot? If so, what kinds of features improve the serviceability?
Yes, it’s much easier to service the AP1 compared to the VP Standard. First, the AP1 has a hinged enclosure (no more holding the VP faceplate in your left hand while turning a screwdriver with your right). It has captive screws, so you won’t lose them.
Are the keys backlit so I can see in low light situations?
Yes. Not only do the keys lite up when pressed, they also communicate messaging via color changes of the backlights themselves. Green glowing keys indicate approval or entrance granted while red glowing keys suggest a denial.
What system information is displayed that may show the overall health of my access control system?
System information that is displayed includes voltage information, faults, address, online/offline mode, baud rate, temperature, firmware, status and serial number.
